Martian Tripod: MT-1 "Marauder", 12", 2025.

Inspired by the artwork from H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds" 1906 edition which was illustrated by Henrique Alvim Corrêa, I took on the task of of building my own versions of the Martian invaders. Described as a cross between octopuses and water towers, Corrêa's work had an improbable horrific whimsy about it that just appealed to me. So here I present the first one of four Martian Tripods, the MT-1 Marauder. Sent as advanced scouts, the MT-1s would test state of Earth's defenses and infrastructure to report back vital information for their imminent invasion.
